Say NO to Nuclear Power in South Africa
The SA Government is on a mission to revive and flood South Africa with no less than 36 nuclear reactors. Numerous government companies have been created under the guises of being private companies to mass fool the public.
The EIA processes are flawed and are not being conducted with full and fair public participation. The Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) company deliberately hijacks public meetings to try and cause confusion and spread their propaganda. NECSA, the Nuclear Energy corporation of South Africa also sends their spies to watch, listen and invade public meetings.
The Department of Minerals And Energy (DME) entertains and encourages companies to apply for Uranium prospecting licenses and they do not enforce the required legislation upon these applicants as far as public participation goes. They allow applicants to call EIA meetings where they upset and LIE to residents about their rights. They allow applicants to break the law. They allow mining companies to destroy the fragile ecosystem of South Africa without ever rehabilitating or repairing them. They allow South African and International mining companies (Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, United States) to poison the rivers and streams that supply communities. What's worse they know about these issues but they choose to do nothing about it.
The Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEAT) quite strangely handles all EIA's in South Africa EXCEPT mining EIA's. The South African Department of Environmental Affairs and Energy is allowed to handle EIA's relating to mining. If that is not the most incestuous relationship ever then I do not know what is.
The Department of Public Enterprises, Mr Alec Erwin, is pushing in every way possible for nuclear energy to go ahead. The National Nuclear Regulator NNR does not seem to be able to effectively do their job either. They seem to be merely a puppet that is controlled by the nuclear mafia.
Eskom, the countries Monopolistic power provider is the one who will be building all these reactors if they go ahead. Many of these will be built around the beautiful coastlines of South Africa ... so all you international tourists can get some nice radiation when you visit South Africa in the future. That's surely a souvenir that's priceless.
South Africa holds many of the most critical and fragile ecosystems in the world. We have a biodiversity that is unparalleled elsewhere. That will all soon be gone and many communities will have their cancers and sicknesses if this is ever allowed to go ahead.
Many other countries in the world are moving towards complete shutdown and cancellation of their nuclear programmes, yet the Nuclear Mafia, who are now struggling to bullshit the first world countries have just chosen to bullshit the third world countries where they can bribe officials and carry on raking in millions on their nuclear projects. Quite honestly this writer believe there is a lot more behind South Africa's SUDDEN push towards Uranium mining than meets the eye. Of course this is all being passed off as a need for Energy but there has been suspicion among many that South Africa is intent on reviving it's nuclear weapons program.
Is this true? Who knows? Anything to do with nuclear energy (worldwide) is blanketed in the utmost of security and lies.
